Victor Hugo

Located in the roof top and in the ground floor of a large industrial building in Bagnolet, these two micro extensions work as in-between spaces, mediating the transition from inside to outside. Contingencies and regulations of the urban space were the key elements to define the shape. In the ground floor, the beam that supports the balcony above the extension was what gave the reason for the shapes of the two façades, and in the case of the roof top extension, it was the regulation of the legal shape for construction that defined the inclination of the pavilion´s roof.
