: Triptych Roof Extension

In front of the central market of Montreuil, this building had yet potential to be densified and grow upwards. The client owned the last floor and was looking to add a new level above it that would act as the new rooftop of the entire construction. With few square meters in the existing flat, our intervention would double the size of their home and make the most of the visuals on the city.

Bringing back the zinc rooftops that predominate in Paris, our project looked to remain subtle towards the outside while making the most of the space that the local regulations enabled us. With a bedroom towards the front, a small studio fully illuminated by natural daylight, and a terrace looking towards the back, the project proposed to adapt the flat to the programmatic agenda of today’s needs, where habitation, working and leisure in the open air may be found in the same place.
