Contemporary grotto
: Lausanne Jardin 2015The passage du Clos de Bulle can be called a “transient microcosm”. “Microcosm” because of the ecosystem of the passage – a dark, humid space, facing north – and “transitory” because it is one of the only covered spaces on the route of Lausanne Jardin. We started from these two main characteristics of the site to propose an intervention that articulates a reflection on the site itself
Read moreTo preserve this character of an exceptional place, the intervention is concealed as a surprise, an intimate moment in the Lausanne Jardin journey which offers different sensations. To do this, we are creating a contemporary reinterpretation of the “grotto”, a classic style figure in the Italian garden: a cool, dark space where the foam, a living organism, replaces the fountains.
