Bougie
: Terrasse residentialThe project “Bougie 34–36” is located in the Heyvaert–Cureghem district of Anderlecht, at the junction between three municipalities and on the threshold of major urban transformations. In this context, the new corner building introduces public housing and shared facilities, supporting the return of residents and the improvement of their living environment. Positioned as a hinge at the entrance of the district, the project engages directly with the future Sennette Park and the network of new pedestrian connections, creating a strong link between street, housing, and public space.
Architecturally, the project embraces its role as a corner building with three distinct façades: the historic industrial frontage on Rue de la Bougie is preserved and restored; the park façade steps down in terraces to create a softer transition to the landscape; while the interior courtyard opens westward with generous balconies and planted gradins. Together, these gestures articulate a volumetry that is both assertive and respectful, marking the entrance to the neighborhood while offering high-quality housing in dialogue with its urban and ecological context.
