: Open apartmentWith the rising costs of real estate in Paris and the never less abundant empty space to build, the matter of densification in the center of the city became of great economic and sustainability importance.
The main objective of the project was to accommodate five people in the existing 80 square meters, so we adopted a quite compact plan strategy, piling up beds of two contiguous bedrooms, in order to maximize the number of inhabitants that the household could stand. With few bearing walls, it was just a matter of micro structural interventions that were needed to open the space and reorganize the existing plan. Making profit of the entire perimeter of the apartment being exposed to direct sunlight, these openings permitted the integration of the common spaces, bringing light to the entire flat.
